Clinician Scholars Program:
Information and Application Materials

Description
A program designed for clinicians who are interested in expanding their capacity to provide HIV/AIDS care. Clinicians who participate in the Scholars Program can expect to receive in-depth training related to the diagnosis, treatment, medical management, and prevention of HIV infection.
Learning from Leading HIV/AIDS Experts
Mentorship–Scholars will be matched with a local clinical HIV/AIDS specialist. This clinician will mentor the participant throughout the program.
Clinical Consultation- Consult with clinicians experienced in diagnosing and managing HIV/AIDS patient care while enrolled in the Scholars Program and beyond.
Networking Opportunities – The Scholars Program provides a forum for clinicians to interact with other Scholars and network with local and regional HIV/AIDS care providers.
Clinical Interactions – Scholars will have the opportunity to observe the care of patients with HIV/AIDS as it is provided, participate in simulated patient care scenarios, and/or respond to case presentations.
Program Eligibility
The Scholars Program is open to licensed Physicians, Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Pharmacists who have established understanding of HIV/AIDS fundamentals and who meet one of the following selection criteria:
- Currently provide care to racial/ethnic minorities, medically under-served or incarcerated populations
- Currently provide care at a Ryan White funded clinic, Community Health Center, or federally supported health care facility such as the Indian Health Service or Veterans Administration.
- Currently prescribe antiretroviral medications under the AIDS Drug Assistant Program (ADAP)
