Description

The Chicago HIV Breakfast Club is a monthly clinical management seminar developed to provide education and training to Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dental Professionals in the field of HIV (non-clinicians are also welcome).  Complimentary breakfast is served.

This month we welcome Dr. Jonathan Cohn, Infectious Diseases, Wayne State University, to provide this update from the XVIII INTERNATIONAL AIDS CONFERENCE that was held in Vienna, Austria, July 18 -- 23. 

Learning Objectives:

1. List the pros and cons of early initiation of antiretroviral therapy.
2. Review the potential uses of antiretroviral medications in the prevention of HIV transmission.
3. Describe the results of clinical trials of new antiretroviral agents presented at the 2010 International AIDS Conference.
